I love Thanksgiving at home.

So we have this great party every year at our house and of course I have to have lots of lowers.
The wrought iron pedestal bowl with the white roses and pheasant feathers is so simple and elegant.

We did orange lilies with lemon leaf and a few dark mums, they looked so pretty in my kitchen.
How about just gourds and lemon leaf in my cornucopia, so so cool!

I have had this turkey for over 10 years and every year I take it out and fill it with flowers.
I love having fresh flowers all over the house. All our friends had a blast at our party.

Manor House Wedding

I love the wrought iron pedestal. We lend it out to our brides, it sits perfectly on a place card table.
At this wedding they used it for the place card table and then they moved it to the desert buffet with the chocolate fountain
The brides bouquet had gorgeous white calla lilies, cream roses and a beigey rose called a sahara, one of my favs and of course seeded eucalyptus, how awesome with the table linens. We placed a vase on the sweetheart table so she could use it as her centerpiece, how fun to have it right there all night long! I sprinkled a few petals and greenery to accent the vase.

Centerpieces with the beige tapers were simple and fallish. We alternated no candles and candles.
The room was beautiful. We actually attended this wedding as well. We had a great time!
Thanks

Fall Dance 2008

Saturday night is the fall dance at Council Rock North. Kids are stopping in and calling for their boutonnieres and corsages. It is such a fun time. Everything in the world has been kind of heavy lately. There's been so much talk about how our world will be changing and how everything will be awful...It's kind of nice to just talk about dress colors and how many roses we'll use in the corsage. We have some fun little charms to add into the wrist corsages and they're going over great.

I love talking to the kids and finding out what they know about their dates dresses and/or likes. Some kids know everything and some know nothing. We help guide them all. sometimes the moms order for their kids and that's okay too. Just as long as they're having fun and being safe, this is a great time in a young person's life. They get to be pretty or handsome and they get to spend the night having fun with their friends and it's good safe fun. Sometimes I wanna be there again. Every year I get to tell someone else about how I graduated from that same high school almost 35 years ago?? and we wore jeans to the fall dance. Things have sure changed, but it was a fun time back then and from what I understand it's a fun time now. So let's forget for a couple of hours about the crazy world out there and get caught up in the dresses and the suits and the flowers and the music!

I told a mom today that I could help with what her son needs to order for his date and she was so grateful, cause she hadn't done this since she was a kid over 30 years ago. Do they get flowers for this dance she asked me. Not all do, but if they've been dating for awhile or want to make a nice impression they do.

So if you need to ask us what to do for flowers call us. We'll advise you and we're good, we've been doing this for kids for over 21 years. 215 968-9555 or Stop in 17 Cambridge Lane Newtown Pa

Winery wedding

What a cool boutonniere!!

The winery was a lovely place for the wedding. The bride and her mom wanted to have flowers that reflected a feeling of casual elegance. We picked orange lilies, bronze fuji's and added great colors of fall mums with hypericum berries and seeded eucalytus. Yummy!! We found these great ceramic pots that looked so cool in the rustic outdoor setting of the vineyard.

We were so happy with the weather and the flowers that gorgeous day
in early October. We had a lot of fun making the arrangements and the bridal bouquest and boutonnieres. We used hypericum berries and seeded eucalyptus for the guys, they were so cool.

Gerberliscious Party on the River

What could be better than fall colored gerbers to say
we are so happy and proud of your accomplishments!

A sunny early fall afternoon along the Delaware River,
A Party to celebrate a young woman's graduation from her
doctoral program. What says happy happy happy
better than bright yellow orange and red gerber daisies.

Flowers are fun!

It was a sunny August afternoon and we helped our good friends with a
party for their restaurant customers in their backyard.
This vase of sunflowers with other late summer garden flowers was the focal point of the buffet table, where the hor's doevres were placed.

We put zinnias and daisies on the eating tables.

We used rings of airy garden flowers on the tables with umbrellas. We kept all the flowers fun and casual so everyone felt the easiness of the day. We used tin buckets for the flowers that went on the pool deck. You never want to put glass on the pool deck. The tables on the grass had low bowls of flowers. There was a local musician who offered to play for the day and many people joined in singing his songs and a few people danced. For parties we want to match the flowers to the feeling you're going for. First Blog of Newtown Floral FAN Mail

Just to let you know that I started this blog of FAN mail for our store Newtown Floral Company
FAN is Flowers Are Necessary for fun, for health, for beauty and just because. We want you to know you can visit us for one flower or for 12 dozen. You might want to call ahead for the 12 dozen, but you can just pop in for a couple. I want to tell people about using flowers for all kinds of things. Sometimes I put a single iris in a vase in my bathroom, or I put 4 to 5 stems of daisies in a square vase on my kitchen table. I love the simplicity of these looks. Another idea is to put a small vase of flowers on your bedside table. A vase of beautifully scented stock to awaken your scentes as you greet the day is heaven on earth. Look for more ideas and if you have any questions you can call or email me. 215-968-9555
